HOMEWORK FOR MONDAY APRIL 2-PRACTICE!!!!!!!!!!

1.PRACTICE- PRACTICE- PRACTICE!!!
Some Important Tips:
1. Print out a clear and corrected copy of your transcript.  Underline or highlight the words that are difficult to pronounce and/or the words that are important and need to be 'emphasized or stressed'.

2.Practice with a partner or  practice in front of the mirror.

3. Make sure to 'enunciate' and to 'project your voice'  so that the audience can hear you!

4. Practice many times so that you know your part well, and you will not have to depend on your transcript that much.  Remember, eye making eye contact and 'connecting' to your audience is important.
5.Coordinate your transcript  and PowerPoint so that your presentation 'flows'.

6.REMEMBER TO BRING IN YOUR TRANSCRIPT ON MONDAY FOR A FINAL DRESS REHEARSAL.

A)TRANSCRIPTS

1.ALL STUDENTS MUST E-MAIL THEIR  TRANSCRIPT TO ME SO THAT I CAN MAKE FINAL CORRECTIONS .  THIS MUST BE AS SOON AS POSSIBLE AND NO LATER THAN TODAY , TUESDAY AT 5PM.

2. ONCE YOU HAVE MADE THE CORRECTIONS TO YOUR DOCUMENTS, YOU ARE TO E-MAIL THE CORRECTED COPY BACK TO ME.

3. I WILL THEN SEND YOU AN EMAIL  TELLING YOU IF YOU HAVE RECEIVE "FINAL APPROVAL"  (FA)

4. ONCE YOU HAVE RECEIVED  THE FINAL APPROVAL (FA) FROM ME  , PRINT OUT TWO  COPIES OF THE TRANSCRIPT AND BRING TO CLASS TOMORROW.

B)HOOK- INTERMISSION- CONCLUSION IDEAS
Every student is to write down at least one song or video to include in the Power Point that has to do with weddings , love or marriage .  Bring your ideas to class .
C)SLANG EXPRESSIONS-
Every student should make a list of as many "slang" expressions that have to do with marriage or getting married.  (Example:  "Tie the Knot")

POWERPOINTS AND TRANSCRIPTS- DUE MONDAY MARCH 26th

Review of Instructions:
1) Please make the corrections and changes to your    PPT   C #1  that we discussed today.
2)Check grammar and spelling of each slide.
3)Finish and improve pictures and graphics.
4)Include any Youtube or other video download that you want to use with the correct URL address, the  correct time of the clip that you want to use, and the correct placement  of the slide in the order of your PPT.
5)  E-mail  the corrected   PPT to my email address: seravino@aol.com.
Call it : PPT  C#1 "Complete" - and I will check it again.
6) Write up your transcript.  Follow the directions on the handout (Task #4).
Email the transcript to me before Sunday March 25th 8PM.
7) Bring your Laptop to class on Monday

REMEMBER:Presentation is just two weeks away.   Please keep on schedule with the assignments.

PRESENTATION PREPARATION REMINDERS!!!!

Hi Class-
Hope all is well, and you are enjoying this lovely spring weather.

Just a few reminders about the upcoming week. 

a)FROM NOW UNTIL THE PRESENTATION DAY- PLEASE BRING YOUR LAP TOPS TO CLASS.   This is very important because you will be working on your PowerPoint presentations in class.

b) All students should have their completed outlines ready for me to check  this coming Monday,  (Presentation Task #2)  You should have a general idea of how you are going to begin your presentation, the basic content of your speech,  and the audio visual materials you will use.


c) If you are doing a survey, you must have survey questions prepared by this Monday for me to review.

If you have any questions send me an EMAIL. Now is your chance to get some help!!!

HOMEWORK #13 (Due Wed. March 7th)


1.  Each of you have been assigned a subtopic  for the presentation. Do some research and  bring in three references/sources  on  your  subtopic.  Be prepared to share some of the  information that you have found about your subtopic  in class this Wednesday.

2.  Review  wedding vocabulary. Find a second form of each word ( some may have only one form).  Make sure you  understand the meaning of all  the vocabulary  and practice the pronunciation of the words.  These words will be the first words of CVL #3.
 
3.  Complete  the  Mid- semester  evaluation form.

4.  Bring in your Listening Log for   log check on Wednesday.

5.  Bring in Laptops  for Wednesday’s class.
